Acceptable Use Policy
What may not be built, published, or done with Clonebased.
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This policy applies to every clone built, published or run with Clonebased, to every clone's site, and to all use of the platform. Violations may result in a clone being taken offline, content removal, account suspension, or termination.
The person being cloned
A clone speaks as a real person, so the first rule is about them:
- A clone may be published only with the agreement of the creator it is a clone of. The Builder confirms that agreement when they publish, and is responsible for its truth.
- A clone may not be used to put words in a creator's mouth: to have it claim, sell, endorse or promise things the creator has not said or offered.
- A clone may not be built of a private individual, of a child, or from content that is not the creator's own public channel.
- A creator who has not agreed can take a clone of themselves down at the takedown page. Attempting to publish a clone of a channel whose owner has done so is a violation of this policy, and the product does not allow it.
Prohibited content
A clone, its material and its site must not contain or promote:
- Illegal content of any kind, including content that is illegal in the United Kingdom or in the jurisdiction where the clone's students are primarily located.
- Sexual content involving minors — prohibited absolutely, with no exception and no warning.
- Adult sexual content, or non-consensual intimate imagery of any kind.
- Content that harasses, threatens, or incites violence or hatred against any person or group.
- Malware, phishing, or content designed to deceive or defraud students.
- Fabricated credentials, results, reviews or endorsements presented as genuine.
- Course material the creator does not have the right to provide, or material taken from behind another product's login.
Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Add material that is not the creator's own, or scrape course platforms, members' areas or anything behind a login
- Attempt to make a clone reveal its instructions, abandon its rules, or answer from another creator's material
- Share, sell or pool student logins, or use a login the creator did not give you
- Misuse the platform to send spam or unlawful marketing
- Attempt to breach, probe, or overload our systems
- Scrape or resell platform data, including Find Creators results
- Use another person's account
- Use Clonebased to violate any law
Enforcement
We may take a clone offline, remove content, and suspend or terminate the responsible account, at our discretion, where this policy is violated or the law requires it.
Reports
A creator who finds a clone of themselves that they did not agree to does not need to report it: the takedown page takes it down on their own proof, with nobody to wait for. To report anything else about a clone hosted by Clonebased, email hello@clonebased.com with the clone's address and the reason.
